Drawn from a photo I found online. This is actress Karen Gillan as Marvel villain/hero, Nebula. The character is interesting to draw because of the mixture of organic and artificial parts. In some areas, they seem to blend together. I did have some struggles with creating a textured “shine” on her forehead. This was the first time I used smooth bristol board for portrait art. I had been using a vellum board prior to this. The “tooth” of the vellum paper did seem to lend itself to certain textures.
